Meeting is indeed the beginning of parting, but I think what matters the most is the memories we made and shared along the way. I wish I could express in words how grateful I am for everything. I hope someday, somehow, we`ll meet again. For now, thank you very much, maraming salamat, |

Hello everyone!
My name is Amy McKenzie and I am thrilled to be the new ALT for Tokushima Kita High School.
I am from Scotland, in the UK. I graduated from Stirling University in 2017 with a joint honours degree in English and Secondary Education. Before moving to Japan, I was an English Literature teacher for 4 years.
Since travelling to Japan in the summer of 2017, my desire to live in such a beautiful country grew stronger every day. As soon as I got back, I longed to go back and experience the rich culture and eat the incredible food again!
I have always had a passion for English, but more importantly I deeply enjoy teaching students alongside excellent teachers and members of staff. I am so excited to be here at Kitako and gain new experience during my time here. I am also looking forward to improving my Japanese!
I would like to thank everyone for being so welcoming so far! I am proud to call Tokushima my home.

My name is Sonali Dutta and I am excited to work with the students, teachers and staff of Tokushima Kita High School as your new Assistant Language Teacher this year.
I am from the UK and my family is Indian. As well as English, I speak an Indian language called Bengali. I also speak Spanish because I studied this at school and university. I am now trying to learn Japanese while living in Tokushima.
Before starting my new role, I worked at a publishing company because I love to read. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelors degree in English and Related Literature from the University of York, UK. In 2013 did a study abroad summer at Mount Holyoke College in America.
I have been to Japan twice before and visited places including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hakone. I enjoy trying Japanese food, visiting temples and shrines and also museums. I loved Japan so much that I wanted to live here, so I am very excited to be working as an ALT in Tokushima. I am excited to learn more about Japanese culture including tea ceremony and ikebana.
I am passionate about helping students enjoy and explore the English language. If you have any questions, would like to practice speaking in English or just want to chat, please don`t hesitate to get in contact. I am looking forward to working with you this year!

I may not teach be able to teach all of the you, but please feel free to have a chat with me, teach me cool stuff about Japanese culture, or just simply practice your English with me. I would be very happy to help you in any way I can.
